Society of Thirteen Lecture – Audubon’s Birds
John James Audubon arrived in Liverpool from the USA in 1826 with his ornithology of the birds of North America. Hugh Hollinghurst, who has researched and written books on local history, will tell the story with the help of reproductions of Audubon’s magnificent illustrations, and will bring to life the Liverpool of the time with a survey of the buildings that survive from the Georgian era.
