Hello Thank you so much for introducing me to Classics it was an inspiration and a privilege to be taught by you – I have continued to read the Iliad and the Odyssey with my own 5 children.God bless you richly and abundantly with fondest regards Joanne Dove – classics student 1981-85!

  4. Thank you very much for your kind and generous words, Joanne. It makes it all the more worth while for a teacher to hear that his inspiration has been passed on to the next generation.

  5. Robert Hodgson says:

My husband, a former teacher now retired has been studying the architecture of Liverpool and has really enjoyed the courses at the department of continuing education. He has recently enrolled for a course at Liverpool University on The Fosters and the classical architecture of Liverpool. He came across a reference copy of your book “John Foster and Sons, Kings of Georgian Liverpool” In Liverpool Central Library, which really fired up his enthusiasm. We have searched high and low, on the internet for a second hand copy but it seems there isn”t a copy available for love nor money. It struck me that you might be able to help us a locate a copy hidden away somewhere, in a dark nook or cranny. You can contact him directly on [address redacted] if you have some advice for us. It would be really good to put the architecture of Georgian England into context w.r.t to the architecture of Liverpool and the profound influence of classicism. Many Thanks. Judith Hodgson
